All three of our glides share the same DNA: they swim stable at any speed, chop in place, and won't blow out or roll when you burn them. The difference is size, and size matters most when it comes to the forage you're matching and the gear you're throwing with.
VG2 Tiny: the do-it-all starter glide
The VG2 Tiny is the VG2, just smaller. Its size means you can throw it on regular conventional bass gear. No dedicated swimbait rod required. That makes it the easiest way to start fishing glides.
Reach for the VG2 Tiny when:
- The bait in your lake is on the smaller side (shad, small bluegill, perch).
- Fish are pressured and keep ignoring bigger baits.
- You want to throw a glide without buying a new setup.
VG2: our all-around glide
The VG2 is 7 inches and about 2.1 ounces, rigged with #1 Mustad hooks on rotating hook hangers. It's the bait we tie on most. Big enough to pull out the quality fish, but still easy to throw all day. It can be chopped, burned, turned 180 degrees, or slow-glided, and it stays stable through all of it.
Reach for the VG2 when:
- You want one glide that covers most situations.
- Gizzard shad, bigger bluegill, or similar-size forage is around.
- You're hunting better-than-average fish without going full big-bait.
VG10: built to catch your personal best
The VG10 is the VG2 but bigger: 10 inches and about 7 ounces, with Gamakatsu Big Bait Special 2/0 hooks, rotating hook hangers, and a silicone tail. A bait this size is for anglers hunting the biggest fish in the lake, plus stripers, musky, and pike.
Reach for the VG10 when:
- The forage is big (adult gizzard shad, trout, big bluegill).
- You're after a true trophy and don't mind fewer, bigger bites.
- You're fishing for stripers, musky, or pike.
Plan on a heavy, dedicated big-bait rod for the VG10. See our setup guide for details.
The simple rule
Match the size of what the fish are eating. Not sure? Start with the VG2. If you're getting followed but not bit, size down to the Tiny. If you're catching numbers but want a giant, size up to the VG10.
